Juan Tepoz – Boxer Blog – July 16 Fight Card
July 6, 2009

Q) Why / how did you starting boxing?
I have always liked boxing. When I was young and living in Mexico, I used to like to go see the fights at the fair, but at the same time, I could not afford to join a gym.

Q) What fighters did you look up to growing up?
Eric “El Terible” Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez and Julio Cesar Chavez.

Q) What has been your most memorable fight?
My first pro-fight which was at the Tank- it was very exciting.

Q) What do you want to accomplish in your boxing career?
My hope and dream is to be able to fight for a championship title.

Q) What is your favorite aspect of fighting at the Tank?
It’s very nice place. The set up is nice, the seating is great. I really like the big screen TVs!

Q) What do think about the state of boxing in the Bay Area?
The Bay Area has strong support for boxing. A lot of good fighters have come from the Bay Area and there are more to come.

Q) How do spend your time outside of the ring?
I keep myself busy. I am either working, training, running or spending time with my family.

Q) Do you have a message for your fans?
Thank you for your support and encouragement. I plan to give a good fight and you will not be disappointed.

Q) What is one thing people don’t know about you?
I have a concern for today’s youth and try to help and advise them, as well as be a good example so they don’t get involved in drugs or gangs. I try to get them involved in sports – like boxing.
