Tony Johnson – Boxer Blog – September 12 Fight Card
September 7, 2009
Q) Where are you right now in your training and how are you feeling physically and emotionally?
I am just starting to peak and I am in great shape. My timing is back and I am ready for war.
Q) What type of nutrition/diet do you follow when training for a fight?
I have been on weight for the last few weeks so I get to eat pretty much what I want. I still don’t eat junk but I don’t starve myself to cut weight. I eat lots of chicken, broccoli, brown rice, peanut butter, and eggs.
Q) Where are you training?
I train at San Jose Boxing and Fitness with Joe Amato.
Q) What are your strengths as a fighter?
I have a lot of heart and athletic ability. I will fight until the end there is no giving up in me.
Q) How familiar are you with your opponent?
I’m not even sure what his name is. I couldn’t tell you anything about him.
Q) What will be your strategy for earning a victory/knockout against your opponent?
I am just going to go out there and box. I will feel him out and look to capitalize on what I see.
Q) Do you think that the crowd will be behind you or your opponent?
Coming from San Jose, I’m expecting the crowd to behind me 100 percent.
Q) What goes through your mind the last hours before a fight?
I try to stay calm but scenarios always run through your head about what is going to happen. I just pray for safety of all competitors and know that this is what I do and I have to fight to eat.
Q) Do you have a message for your fans?
Keep an eye out for my fight, its going to be one you don’t want to miss.
