Ana Julaton – Boxer Blog – September 12 Fight Card
September 7, 2009
Q) Where are you right now in your training and how are you feeling physically and emotionally?
I feel like it’s MY time. I have a great team and we’re all looking to making big fights before I retire.
Q) What type of nutrition/diet do you follow when training for a fight?
The typical 5-6 meals a day. My conditioning coach, Arvin Jugarap looks over all of my nutrition. It’s all about staying consistent.
Q) Where are you training?
I’m currently training at the Kennel Boxing Gym in San Leandro, Ca.
Q) What are your strengths as a fighter?
I enjoy what I do and I take it seriously. Whether things are going great or not, I stay consistent. So Consistency is my strength.
Q) How familiar are you with your opponent?
I was a fan of Kelsey Jeffries when I was an amateur. I actually saw her defend the title a few years ago at the Tank, for me to be fighting her now for a world title at the Tank is all very surreal. She’s a great fighter. One of the best ever.
Q) What will be your strategy for earning a victory/knockout against your opponent?
I think it’ll be more exciting for everyone to see it unfold so you’ll have to wait till Sept. 12th.
Q) Do you think that the crowd will be behind you or your opponent?
Tough to say. My opponent has fought in the HP several times and she’s a legend in this sport. I expect many of her fans to attend the event. I also have my fans ecstatic about the fight being local and with the Filipino American Community on my side I expect this to be a great event. It’s going to be fun.
Q) What goes through your mind the last hours before a fight?
Honestly, just to have a good time. Enjoy the moment!
Q) Do you have a message for your fans?
I’m glad to bring a fight back to the Bay Area. It’s an honor to be the 1st Filipina American boxer to be the Main Event in the Bay Area and I will make everyone in our community proud. See everyone on September 12 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Ca. Thanks for your support!
